Bondaval ernennt Paul Collier von Centrica, Atradius zum Group VP Risk Underwriting

LONDON, 1 AUG 2024-- Bondaval, a leading insurtech offering payment default protection powered by technology, has appointed Paul Collier to lead its risk underwriting function.

Reporting directly to Ewa Rose, Bondaval’s Group CUO, Collier will lead all risk underwriting activity and assist in setting underwriting and pricing strategies to minimise potential losses and enhance profitability, alongside establishing supplementary frameworks to streamline and advance internal underwriting processes.

He will also work closely with the data science and technology teams to further develop Bondaval’s approach to risk scoring and portfolio modelling, as well as collaborating on additional means of leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence within the underwriting process.

Collier brings to Bondaval over 20 years of diverse experience spanning the credit insurance, energy and corporate finance sectors. Prior to joining Bondaval, Collier spent over 15 years at Centrica PLC, the international energy and services provider.

While there, he embedded in-depth credit risk decisioning processes across business units, as well as producing comprehensive analytical insights on the credit worthiness of high value, high risk and complex counterparties across Centrica’s portfolios. He was also responsible for leading risk strategies to respond to different volatility events within the market.

Furthermore, in a previous role, Collier has managed project-specific insurance budgets and all associated credit risk policies, as part of his role exploring and leading the use of a variety of credit risk mitigation techniques.

Before that, he was a senior underwriter at Atradius, managing sector-specific portfolios in a challenging environment with exacting zero-loss ratio targets.
